One of the crucial things in your trip is the time of the year for your trip. You should choose the best season to be able to see everything that you would like to see and visit.

From December to March it’s Calving season and it is famous for the presence of the Wildebeest Migration in the Ndutu region of the Serengeti. At this time the weather is great, there aren’t a lot of tourists, and you have a chance to see the great Wildebeest Migration in Ndutu.

From April to May it’s the Green season and it’s also known as the rainy season. This is not a great time to go on a safari for obvious reasons, but at this time there are very little people and you may find a luxury lodge for a very reduced price.

From June to September is the Peak season and this is the most popular time of the year for tourist visits to Tanzania. This season is known for the movement of the Wildebeest Migration from the Southern Serengeti to the Maasai Mara in Kenya. At this time of the year, the prices of accommodation are a bit higher and there are a lot of people that want to witness the migration and crossing the Mara River.

From October to November is the Shoulder season which is known as the short rainy season. Another time of the year when there are not many tourists in Tanzania and the weather is better than in the rainy season. But you are not going to be able to see the herd and Wildebeest Migration.

The must-see in Tanzania when on a safari is Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Serengeti National Park is the world’s most famous national park and the Wildebeest Migrations is in this park for the most time of the year. The most visited part of the park is the Seronera region which has a big population of wild cats, and the part of the park that is home to the annual calving season is the Ndutu region. The magnificent crossing of the Mara River happens in the Northern Serengeti, and a lot of people visit at this time to witness that.

If you want o see the largest population of rhinoceros in Tanzania you need to visit the Ngorongoro Crater. But here you will also be able to see elephants, lions, buffalo, hippos, and many more wild animals.

Another two parks that you need to visit if you have time while in Tanzania are the twin parks of Lake Manyara and Tarangire.

Lake Manyara National Park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, a sight that you must see. We did say that the rainy season is not the best season to visit this beautiful country, but during that season some magical things are happening in Lake Manyara Park. Hippos and beautiful flamingos are enjoying the lakes that appear during the rainy season and seeing that makes a trip to this park worthwhile.

Tarangire National Park is home to those strange trees that you’ve had the chance to read about in the book The Little Prince. Yes, the baobab trees are a unique touch to this park’s nature. Here during the dry season, you can see the largest population of elephants in Tanzania, but also baboons, lions, giraffes, and zebras.

This is one of the most important things while planning your trip, but you don’t need to worry because there are many accommodation options for any budget. If you are keen on camping you can do that, but also if you are afraid of it and you are more into glamping there are many luxurious options. SafariByZ may have something interesting for you.

If you are adventurous or you are just on a budget you can camp in some of the major parks, and camping safaris are a different experience.

But if you are afraid and would not love to camp in the open there are many budget-friendly lodges where you can rest safe and not think about an elephant knocking on the door of your tent because you will be accommodated in the town. Some lodges are located on the fringes of the park. And of course, there are luxury lodges for those that love to live the lavish life. You can find some great affordable luxury lodges but also those that are not for everyone’s pocket.

Another great option is tented camps and they combine the comfort of a lodge with the adventurous spirit of camping. In tented camps, you’ll have your bathroom, hot shower, and beds. Besides standard tented camps, there are luxury tented camps.

Wherever you choose to stay while on a safari will be good because just going to a safari is something so special and life-changing.

While on a safari remember to have fun, try all of the things you have the opportunity, walk, breath and enjoy the raw nature and wildlife.

This is a once in a lifetime experience and you should try to make it unforgettable, so be sure to absorb all of the magic this magnificent country has to give you.
