The Thillai Nadaraja Temple situated in Chidambaram town of Tamil Nadu. The temple has been dedicated to Lord Shiva in Anada Tandava pose or Nadaraja. It stretches over in acres of land. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and also the one of the largest Shiva temple in India. The Shiva Linga of the temple is also called Agni Linga. It is also known as Arunachaleswarar that also means one of the forms of lord Shiva. It stretches in 25 acres of land. The temple was built by the Cola rulers back in the 9th century. The temple has many halls and four huge gateways. There is also a huge hall with 1000 pillars built by King Krishna Devaraya.
7. Ekambareswarar Temple, Tamil Nadu
The Ekambareswarar temple is the largest temple in the holy city of Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu. The Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It stretches in an area of 23 acres. The temple was built by Paranthaka Chola back in 650 A.D. The temple has been built in such a way that in the month of March and April the rays of the sun fall directly on the main Shiva Linga. The inner wall of the temple has 1008 Shiva Lingam. It has also a hall with thousand pillars known as Aayiram kaal mandapam.

8. Jambukeswarar Temple, Tamil Nadu
The Jambukeswarar Temple is located in Tiruchirapalli of Tamil Nadu and one of the most famous Hindu temples amog tourist. It is a part of panchabhoota sthalams meaning one of the Shiva Temples that represent the five elements land, water, air, sky and fire. The other three is also in Tamil Nadu and one is in Andhra Pradesh. The temple is dedicated to water one of the five great entities. The temple also has underground water stream. 9. Meenakshi Amman Temple, Tamil Nadu
The Meenakshi Amman Temple is an amazing example of the Dravidian architecture. The temple represents two Gods namely Lord Siva and Goddess Parvathy or Meenakshi. The Lord Shiva is also called by the name Sundareswarar in Madurai. The temple was named after the Meenakshi Goddess also known as Parvathy. The temple stretches in the area of 17 acres. The temple was built by Pandyan king Malavarman Kulasekara Pandyan back in the 13th century. During the 14th century the temple was invaded by Muslim invader Malik Kafur. The temple Vaitheeswaran Koil has been dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is located in the Tamil Nadu state of India.
